Ingredients:
  • 1/4 lb butter(1/2 cup)
  • 1/4 lb crisco (1/2 cup)
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • rind of 1 lemon (or 1 tsp vanilla)
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Steps:
  • Cream well: butter, Crisco & sugar.
  • Separate eggs and add 6 egg yolks, lemon rind, flour and baking powder.
  • Fold in whites of 6 eggs (beaten stiff).
  • Pour into a greased and floured aluminum pan (11 x 14).
  • Bake at 325 for 30-35 min. or until top is set and golden.
  • Cool & cut into shapes such as diamonds or crescents.
  • Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
