Ingredients:
  • Dough:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water

  • Filling:
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1 cup crumbled bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup sugar or less
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • Steps:
  • Mix dough, cover, and let stand for 1 hour or longer.
  • Peel and slice about 1 quart or more apples (I use Cortlands).
  • In a frying pan, brown crumbled bread in 2 Tbsp butter.
  • Cool and set aside.
  • Roll out dough on large cloth which is dusted with flour(potica cloth).
  • Then stretch dough until it is paper thin. (A few holes won't matter).
  • Trim off thicker outer edges.
  • At this point you should let the dough dry out somewhat or use a hair-dryer to dry it out a bit.
  • Brush with melted butter.
  • Spread on the apples; then sprinkle on sugar which is mixed with the cinnamon.
  • Sprinkle on bread crumbs and raisins.
  • Roll up like a jelly roll.
  • Twist it into a 9 x 12 cake pan which has been sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Bake about 45 minutes to an hour at 350 degrees or until it is nicely brown.
  • Watch it.

  • Serve warm or cold.
